RULES FOR THE 2008 TNG RACING SEASON

1. Two incident rule : anyone that causes (2) yellows (if no yellow comes out it does not count) during a race will have to park it. (racing deals count as  a half of an incident). Also any wrecks while under caution will count towards an incident.

2. Stay in the outside lane (far right) of pit road until you are 3 stalls away from your pit.

3. Under 10 to go all lap cars must pit and line up behind lead lap cars. Failure to do so may result in a black flag or ejection.

4. Absolutely no flaming on teamspeak or in the race server chat. Please keep green flag race chat to a minimum, use your Auto Chat keys or keep it simple and race orientated. Chatting is not permitted during qualifying runs until the timer is at 0 sec. Chatting under yellow is fine, but use your best judgment. If an admin gives the command to cut all chat, please follow his advice.
Any chatting that results into an argument in the race or flaming will quite possibly result to an ejection. With or without a warning.
Get to know who the admins are. If they give you as a driver a direction in the race, please follow their advice. (SUNDAY AERO 88 IS MARSHALL, TUESDAY CTS07  IS SD, THURSDAY COT ARE RUSTY AND NATHAN)

5. There will be no driver substitutions, however we do have unlimited provisionals available.

6. No passing under yellow. When the yellow comes out all cars hold their position. Maintain pace speed. If cars (in the racing groove) in front of you have to slow to avoid a wreck and were not involved you are to slow also.  If someone has to go onto apron and stop to avoid a wreck then you are allowed to pass safely.

7. We DO NOT race back to the line with 10 or less laps to go
Stay Alert! Speeding up and slowing down under yellow multiplies for the drivers behind you.

8. No stopping on the track to cause a yellow. If we see this happen in a replay you will be parked next race. If you blow an engine get off the track as quickly and safely as possible.

9. If you lose control of your car during a race DO NOT re-enter racing groove until you have complete control  of your car. DO NOT  expect the cars on the track to give you room.

10. If you are involved in a wreck please be aware of the cars around you and try to get to a safe place on the track. If cars are running by you, sit tight until its safe to right yourself. If your car is not drivable, please call for a tow truck or retire. Do not sit on or near the track. If your car can not be repaired or you need to leave for any reason please retire from the event. Do not sit in your pitstall, unles you are to return soon.

11. When the pace car pulls in you should maintain a steady pace speed until the green flag waves, then safely accelerate to race speed. On double file starts the inside line should help and give room for drivers to safely merge when that track doesn't accomidate two wide into the turn. When starting farther back in the field the accordian effect makes the line slow on restarts and show enough patience to allow the field in front to get up to speed safely. Maintain a (.2) seconds between you and the car in front of you when coming to take the green.

12. We will not clear any black flags unless unwarranted and that will be left up to the admin in each series.

13. No blocking : Blocking is specifically defined as, to impede or obstruct an opponents passage or progress. There is much debate over this issue but this is what the admin. will consider to be overly aggressive blocking on any lap. The intentional movement from one line to the other, then back again in an attempt to impede or obstruct an opponents passage or progress. If this results in an accident, the blocker will be considered to be at fault. It will be the responsibility of the driver that is blocked to send in a replay for review.
Common courtesy is expected so if you are not keeping up with the car in front of you and someone is right on your tail applying pressure, you should move up and allow the faster car to pass, giving him plenty of room to do so, perhaps he can pull you back up to the pack.

14. The lucky dog (LD) rule is in effect for all series unless noted. It will be awarded to the first car not on the lead lap at each caution period and the one who caused the yellow IS NOT eligible.
If you feel there is any way you could be responsible for the caution you must announce publicly that you were involved (simply typing up "involved" will be enough).  Once all cars have lined up behind the pace car after taking the caution, the race admin will announce the lucky dog recipient. That will be determined by looking at the F2 screen after all cars have taken the yellow flag and getting the first car not on the lead lap. You must be connected and on track when the yellow flies in order to be eligible. That car MUST place himself at the end of the longest line without holding any lapped cars up. The easiest way to accomplish this is to either speed down pit road and get an EOLL penalty(WITHOUT PASSING ANY CARS UP ON THE TRACK) or wait on pit road until you are the last car in line. If you receive a black flag trying to place yourself at the EOLL it will not be cleared. If the lucky dog car fails to place himself at the EOLL then no lucky dog lap will be given (there will be an exception if one or two cars behind you also got EOLL or left the pits late). Once the field takes the green flag the lap will be awarded as we can't give laps back under caution.
LD Penalties.....If it is determined that someone was the cause for an incident and also received the lucky dog for it, that driver may receive a 2 lap penalty to the final standings.

If you were at fault then type "involved", nothing more.

Any disputes for the recipient should be sent to the replay committee with a full explanation of what you are contesting.

15. We will give an extra 10 points for winning a race (185 points for 1st plus 5 points for leading a lap and 5 points for leading the most laps, if applicable)

16. At the discretion of the admin, you may be placed on probation for improving the racing experiance of all. You may be black flagged by an admin for the betterment of racing. If you feel wronged, please bring up the matter POST RACE for discussion. It won't be the first time we got a call wrong so please take one for the league as we're trying to make the experience great for all. If you have two self spins that bring out a caution or violate the league rules severely enough, you may also be asked to park. The two spin rule can be made manditory prior to an event. Failure to park will lead to ejection.

17. Our goal here is to have fun, clean and competitive racing for all members. There is to be is to be no swearing or flaming in any Divisional League Event or practice. There is to be no over aggressive driving towards any other driver in a race or retaliation of any kind. Show respect for your fellow drivers and we''ll have a great time!
